On our 10th leg of our Great Loop cruising itinerary we’re back in the USA.  We’ll depart Mackinaw, about 20 minutes from Pellston Regional Airport,  and complete this leg in Traverse City , Michigan.  While the overall mileage of this 7 day leg is not large, the exploration opportunities are vast.   We’ll may begin this trip off start off with a quick trip up to Mackinac Island, where there are no cars, and horses and bicycles are used for transportation.  Grab some fudge, enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, head to the Grand Hotel or Fort, or take a carriage tour.  From there we’ll  head to Little Traverse Bay, visiting ports including Harbor Springs (America’s Best Small Lake Town) and Petoskey .  Enjoy trails at a nature preserve, historic main street, peruse art galleries, stone hunt for prehistoric fossils, or a relax on a fresh water beach.  From Little Traverse Bay we’ll continue south to Charlevoix where you may visit the mushroom house or Castle Farms, or pursue the shops downtown.  Will continue on to Traverse City where you can visit Wineries, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lake Shore and dine at a Great Lakes Culinary Institute.
