On our 10th leg of our Great Loop cruising itinerary we’re back in the USA.  We’ll depart Mackinaw, about 20 minutes from Pellston Regional Airport,  and complete this leg in Traverse City , Michigan.  While the overall mileage of this 7 day leg is not large, the exploration opportunities are vast.   We’ll may begin this trip off start off with a quick trip up to St Ignace where you may soak in the history or outdoor activities.  From there we’ll head west to Beaver Island and St. James Harbor.  We’ll head back to the upper peninsula and Little Traverse Bay, visiting the the trio of ports including Harbor Springs (America’s Best Small Lake Town), Petoskey and Bay Harbor.  Enjoy trails at a nature preserve, historic main street, peruse art galleries, stone hunt for prehistoric fossils, or a relax on a fresh water beach.  From Little Traverse Bay we’ll continue south to Charlevoix where you may visit the mushroom house or Castle Farms, or pursue the shops downtown.  Will continue on to Traverse City where we’ll visit Wineries, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lake Shore and dine at the Great Lakes Culinary Institute.
